Still Life Oil painting study. I have been doing my studies in oils lately, I feel I learn much more this way.

It has been such a helpful exercise that of rendering simple forms like a sphere and a cylinder... I still can soften and blend things to get them smoother, but I got the the basic values more or less there.

Hi everyone, I was asked on how I usually approach my concepts... here is a step by step tutorial which guides you on my general process. There are times where I start from colour straight away (especially lately), but this is the general method for me. This is about a concept character I did for a school project.

I really wish schoolwork doesn't take much so much time. Plus that it has nothing to do with such interesting art. I did these after school, when I get home and finish my daily (personal) studies on anatomy etc. I really can't imagine if I'd get a full time concept artist - how much would I improve! :)

The second piece was inspired by my hero Kekai Kotaki (actually all of his works inspire me alot)! I will most probably use the second piece as a book cover I'm working on for a project. That was the reason why I left the lower-right corner empty- for the title.

I did these for a school project I'm currently working on. I was suggested to paint some things that Maltese people would recognise. So after some thinking, I came up with the idea to paint part of our island itself. Eventually I ended up doing two versions of it. The first one is the peaceful one, while the other has a bit of movement going on. Since the project involves some battles and action illustrations, I thaught to come up with the second one.
