Caravaggio

Last month I dedicated it to studying my probably most influential old master painter - Michelangelo Merisi di Caravaggio.

Now that school started, I'm afraid it will be really hard for me to do more personal work... Anyways, here are the two studies.

Oil painting study - Boyka

An afternoon torso study of the great Boyka, from Undisputed 2,3 "The most complete fighter in the world!"

That hanging on the painting is an old umbrella that I use as a mahl stick.

Oil painting - getting back in shape!

Haven't posted for a while because of school assignments, but now we're almost finished so I'm preparing to get back in shape with oil paints and some digital paintings. This is a painting of a statue here in Malta.

Still Life Study

Still life study, mainly a color study. I already posted another oil painting like this one a while back with the same objects. I will try to make a new setup next time with some different objects, but I really like that high chroma in the cup. Anyways....

Traditional Work

Still Life Oil painting study. I have been doing my studies in oils lately, I feel I learn much more this way.


It has been such a helpful exercise that of rendering simple forms like a sphere and a cylinder... I still can soften and blend things to get them smoother, but I got the the basic values more or less there.

Oil Paintings

Oil paintings done this week. I don't just paint ugly creatures and fighting dudes with photoshop... I enjoy expressing this side of me as well and oils are an outstanding medium. Hope you like these still lives.
