Part of school assignment is to make a comic for kids age 8-12 and we have to feature this mascot (below). I decided to spend a couple of hours an make my own speedpainting interpretation of him... so here it is.

Still Life Study

Still life study, mainly a color study. I already posted another oil painting like this one a while back with the same objects. I will try to make a new setup next time with some different objects, but I really like that high chroma in the cup. Anyways....

Horse Armor Knight Concept 1

This is a concept character design horse armor. Its the first update as I intend to make more variations of this character when I get time. I am working on a project as a concept artist of which I cannot say too much... But I try to update as I can. Some ink work for today's post. These are sketches I do to generate some ideas. I might finish them in Photoshop to give a better feel to some of them.





Sorry, I know it makes no sense in this one, but it's still good exercise... It's pretty fun to start putting things in conjunction to one another.

Traditional Work

Still Life Oil painting study. I have been doing my studies in oils lately, I feel I learn much more this way.


It has been such a helpful exercise that of rendering simple forms like a sphere and a cylinder... I still can soften and blend things to get them smoother, but I got the the basic values more or less there.
